Spring Fling Dance 2017

Category : Uncategorized

On Sunday, April 2, 2017, we had celebrated our Spring Fling dance and pizza party at the Spotlight Studio in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In celebration of our Spring Fling, each student and technician received new green-colored AAMC T-shirts. We felt very grateful and fortunate to be working with great students and staff members! Jacki and other ZamDance members were there. There were also other kids with special needs and autism, even good friends that I know from Walter Johnson High School. DJ Kris lit up the room with lighting effects and tons of pop, Latin and Spanish music. I felt very excited when the music came on and we had danced the afternoon away. Jacki called one of the students, especially the JIT students, to come up onto the stage and to show off their best dance moves. They did an excellent job. After a long dance party, there was plenty of food to go around for everyone. After the good food we ate, we took one last group photo inside the Spotlight Studio until it was time to go home. Jacki thanked us for dancing and all the fun we’ve had. It was a great dance party for the AAMC staff and students.

The kids have been loving listening to their favorite songs while learning dance moves! They listen to songs by Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and many other popular artists to get everyone up and moving. The kids and the techs love participating! This happens every Thursday at JIT. Pictured above are a few of the kids who got to participate last week!

The New Year party was a blast!

Category : In The News , News

One of my favorite activities at JIT are our parties! I like our parties because we get to eat pizza, snacks, and watch a movie with my friends. Our last party was on December 30th.

We celebrated the December birthdays and the New Year! There were so many people! It was hard to get everyone in one picture! I had a great time eating pizza and doughnuts while watching Chicken Little with my friends. I always have a great time with my friends at JIT. I hope we can have many more parties together in the New Year.

2016 Reflections

Category : In The News , News

Hey everyone!

I had a great time at JIT in the year 2016! I did many fun activities with my friends here. I watched lots of movies with my friends. I played Bocce, basketball, and soccer with everyone when
the weather was nice outside. When the weather wasn’t good, we could still play puzzles, Jenga, and Bocce inside. Somedays, I would play with dogs for dog therapy. I played with Jack, Kuma, Simon, and Susie. We went for walks and played fetch together. In the summer, we went to the Air and Space Museum. We saw big planes, stars, space shuttle, and saw the airport. We also went to Howard County Fairgrounds. At the fairgrounds, I saw many different animals like horses and cows. I had great time at JIT in this whole year. I cannot wait to see what we will do together in 2017!
Sincerely,
Emnet
Ps. Happy New Year!

Summer 2016

Category : Uncategorized

Our 2016 summer program was a blast!

We went on countless field trips to places like the Air and Space Museum, Chuck E. Cheese, Needwood Park, Ellioak Farm, and several others. The kids also enjoyed our weekly trips to the pool. We had Med Fit and Me Moves. On Sundays we had dog therapy.

Although summer has come to an end, we will continue the pleasant experiences as we transition into the school year! Good luck to all of the kids in the school year!
