Procedure for Inclement Weather Days:

In order to better streamline communication of JITAC closures due to weather, we have come up with the following inclement weather protocol. We will NOT ALWAYS follow MCPS closures anymore. The decision to remain opened or closed will be based on several factors. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CHANGES. Additionally, parents, please be mindful of your email during the day if your child is at JITAC as inclement weather worsens, as we may contact you to pick up your child for an early closure.

How You Will Be Notified

● You will receive an email or phone call at 7:00 AM if we are closing or opening late.

● If you get no message, JIT/JITAC is OPEN.

If We Are CLOSED

● Jamie or Erica will notify all parents and staff at 7:00 AM.

If We Are OPENING LATE (10:00 AM Start)

● Notification sent at 7:00 AM.

● Attendance is first come, first served.

Procedure:

1. Please wait for our official message. (No early emails will be accepted.)
2. After you receive it, please reply if you want your youth/young adult to attend.
3. We will confirm YES or NO based on staffing and safety.
4. Please do NOT come to the center without confirmation—you will be turned away.
5. Approved drop-off time: 10:00 AM.

If You Receive No Message

● The center is open as usual.
